KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir from July 2 to 11

Maintenance of 33 kV transmission lines to affect electricity supply in parts of Srinagar, Kupwara, Budgam, Kulgam, Bandipora and other areas

The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts of Kashmir from July 2 to July 11, 2026, to facilitate maintenance works on various 33 kV transmission lines.

According to KPDCL, electricity supply will remain affected between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm in the following areas:

  • July 2: Shutdown of the 33 kV Soura–SKIMS line will affect power supply to Upper Soura, 90 Feet Road, Nowshera, Bohlachpora and adjoining areas.
  • July 5: Shutdown of the 33 kV Habak–Hazratbal line will impact Habak, Hazratbal, Mallabagh and neighbouring localities.
  • July 7: Shutdown of the 33 kV Takenwari line will disrupt electricity supply to Sangam, Shanglipora and adjoining areas.

Kupwara and Handwara

  • July 2: Maintenance of the 33 kV Arampora–Handwara Hot and Kupwara Old Line will affect Handwara town, Chogal, Kulangam, Sagipora, Marathgam, the entire Lolab Valley, Machil Valley and adjoining areas.
  • July 4: Shutdown of the 33 kV Arampora–Handwara Old and Kupwara Old Line will affect Zachaldara, Rajwar, Hangah, Haril, Lach, the entire Lolab Valley, Machil Valley and nearby areas.
  • July 7: Shutdown of the 33 kV Kupwara Old Line will impact the entire Lolab and Machil valleys.
  • July 2: Maintenance of the 33 kV Hyhama–Dolipora line will affect Trehgam, Hayan, Zurhama, Hyhama, Gushie, Deedikoot and adjoining areas.
  • July 3: Shutdown of the 33 kV Kralpora–Tarathpora Tap line will disrupt power supply to Kralpora, Gazriyal, Chowkibal, Shumnag Valley, Keran Valley, Kalmoona and neighbouring areas.
  • July 6 and 9: Maintenance of the 33 kV Tangdar Tap line will affect Tangdar, Gabra, Taad, Kandi, MES Chiterkoot, Teetwal and adjoining areas.
  • July 9 and 11: Shutdown of the 33 kV Keran Tap line will affect the entire Keran Valley.

Kulgam

  • July 2 and 4: Shutdown of the 33 kV Wanpoh–Qaimoh line will affect Qaimoh, Khudwani, Redwani, Matalhama and adjoining areas.

Budgam

  • July 2: Maintenance of the 33 kV Ahmadpora–Arizal Tap line will disrupt power supply to Arizal, Raiyar, Doodhpathri and nearby areas.
  • July 4 and 7: Shutdown of the 33 kV Ahmadpora–Beerwah line will affect Sail, Gondipora, Old Beerwah, Arwa, Najan, Chewdara, Beerwah town, Sonpah, Raiyar, Hospital Zanigam, Arizal, Doodhpathri, Khag and adjoining localities.
  • July 7: Maintenance of the 33 kV Ahmadpora–Magam line will impact Mazhama, Old Sanoor, Aripanthan, Magam, Werihama, Burden and adjoining areas.

Bandipora

  • July 2, 4 and 8: Shutdown of the 33 kV Badampora Army–Madhwan line will affect electricity supply to Hajin, Hakbara, Safapora, Shahgund, Boniyar, Sodnara and Chandergir.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled shutdown period and has stated that the maintenance works are essential for strengthening and ensuring the reliability of the power distribution network.
