The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer keys for 84 subjects of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination, allowing candidates to raise objections against the answers.
Candidates can submit challenges online from August 16 to August 18 until 11:59 pm. A processing fee of Rs 200 per question will be applicable for each challenge, and the fee must also be paid by the deadline.
The NTA said challenges will be accepted only through the official UGC-NET portal and must be accompanied by relevant documentary evidence. Objections submitted through any other mode will not be considered.
Keys for Three Subjects Withheld
The provisional answer keys for English, Commerce and Sociology have not been released yet.
According to the NTA, complaints regarding alleged errors in the question papers of these three subjects are currently being examined. A committee has been constituted to assess the complaints and submit its recommendations.
The agency said a separate public notice regarding these three subjects would be issued after the committee completes its examination and submits its findings.
Candidates Advised to Verify Answers Carefully
The NTA has advised candidates to carefully examine the provisional answer key and supporting documents before filing objections.
Candidates have also been urged to rely only on information published through the agency’s official website and verified social media handles to avoid misinformation regarding the examination and challenge process.
The answer key and objection facility have also been made available for candidates appearing in the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 examination. Such candidates have been advised to refer to the relevant official notification and submit objections within the prescribed deadline.
The challenge process is an important stage before the final answer keys are prepared, after which the examination results will be processed by the testing agency.
