The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 24 Block Development Officers (BDOs) and equivalent officials across the Union Territory with immediate effect.
The orders were issued by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj under Government Order No. 234-JK(RD&PR) of 2026, dated August 20, 2026. All officers covered by the order have been deemed relieved from their existing assignments forthwith.
Among the major changes, Lateef Ahmad Mantoo has been transferred from Block Gurez to Block Kakapora, while Hakeem Auqib Javaid has been shifted from Trehgam in Kupwara district to Singhopora.
Amir Ashraf Rather has been transferred from the ACP Office, Jammu, to Block Verinag and assigned additional charge of Block Hiller Shahabad. Amir Hassan has been shifted from the Directorate of Rural Sanitation to Block Qazigund, with additional charge of Block Vessu.
Shakeel Ahmad Bhat has been transferred from Shopian to Block Sumbal in place of Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, who has been moved to Block Mawar Qalamabad with additional charge of Block Langate.
Qadeer Charak has been transferred from Surankote to Block Akhnoor in place of Sushil Singh, while Naresh Kumar has been shifted from the ACP Office, Jammu, and posted as BDO (Headquarters) in the office of ACP Reasi.
Ifroz Ahmad Rather has been transferred from Mathwar to Block Maira Mandrian in place of Tahir Hafiz, who has been shifted to the ACD Office, Samba.
Shabir Ahmad has been transferred from Thathri to Block Bhaderwah in place of Yasir Hussain Wani, while retaining additional charge of his previous station.
Rasika Sikka has been transferred from the ACD Office, Miran Sahib, to Block Samba.
Shalini Chandel has been transferred from the ACD Office, Ramban, to Gundana. She will assume charge on September 1, 2026, following the superannuation of the present incumbent.
Mohtshim Hanief has been shifted from Plangarh to Block Budhal Kotranka and given additional charge of Block Budhal Rajnagar.
Ijaz Ahmad has been transferred from Mankote to Manjakote in place of Shoaib Aslam, while Mohd Shahayar Dar has been moved from Siot to Thanamandi. The BDO of Sunderbani will hold additional charge of Siot.
Aamir Choudhary has been transferred from the ACP Office, Poonch, to Mendhar, while Mohd Irfan has been shifted from Mandhar to Plangarh.
Shoaib Aslam has been transferred from Manjakote to the ACD Office, Jammu, as BDO (Headquarters).
The government has also assigned Mohd Arif Wagay to the Administrative Department, with his salary to be drawn against the overall strength of the BDO cadre.
In Kashmir, Shahnawaz Malik has been transferred from Rajwar to Sukhnag, while Tariq Ahmad Paddar has been shifted from Chittergam to Kanjullar.
The order also provides for a mutual exchange of postings between Akansha Gupta and Mehak Choudhary, who have exchanged their respective assignments between Block Purmandal and Block Panthal.
The latest reshuffle is aimed at streamlining the functioning of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department and ensuring administrative continuity across various blocks of Jammu and Kashmir.
