Examiner Bureau | Anantnag:
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted searches at two locations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district as part of an ongoing investigation, officials said.
NIA teams carried out the searches at the SICOP complex in Bijbehara and Kreeri village in the Dooru area, with personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and local police accompanying the agency during the operations.
Officials said the searches were linked to an investigation being pursued by the federal anti-terror agency. However, authorities did not immediately disclose details about the case or the specific allegations being examined.
Sources indicated that the searches may be connected to a probe involving activities with a possible terror angle, although the precise nature and scope of the investigation remained unclear.
The deployment of CRPF personnel and local police alongside NIA teams reflected the security-sensitive nature of the searches.
The operations were reportedly conducted as part of the agency’s continuing efforts to investigate suspected activities falling within its mandate.
Officials remained tight-lipped about the developments and did not immediately provide information regarding any seizures, arrests or questioning during the searches.
Further details about the case and the outcome of the operations are awaited.
