Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), calling for peace, harmony, compassion and mutual respect.
In separate messages, both leaders highlighted the teachings and life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), describing them as a source of guidance for promoting peace, equality, kindness and universal brotherhood.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged people to reflect the Prophet’s teachings in their daily lives and work collectively towards building a more inclusive and harmonious society.
“On this sacred day, let us pledge to live by his values of love, kindness, and universal brotherhood and work together to foster a more harmonious, inclusive and united society,” Sinha said.
He extended his greetings to the people and expressed hope that the occasion would inspire everyone to strengthen the bonds of compassion, tolerance and brotherhood.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also conveyed his greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and emphasised the values of peace, compassion, brotherhood and mutual respect associated with the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Abdullah expressed hope that Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi would further strengthen social unity and communal harmony across Jammu and Kashmir.
He also prayed for lasting peace, prosperity and the well-being of the people of the Union Territory.
Both leaders urged people to observe the occasion in the spirit of the values it represents and reaffirm their commitment to peace, tolerance, compassion and social harmony.
They wished the people of Jammu and Kashmir peace, happiness, prosperity and continued well-being, while calling for collective efforts to strengthen unity and mutual respect across society.
