Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Friday chaired a high-level security meeting to review the Border Protection Grid along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in the Jammu region, officials said.
The meeting focused on reviewing security arrangements and strengthening coordination among the forces deployed along the borders to prevent attempts by terrorists to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
The Border Protection Grid comprises the Army, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP). The anti-infiltration obstacle system deployed along the IB and LoC is also a key component of the security framework.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police Media Centre said in a post on X that the DGP reviewed the Border Protection Grid in coordination with the concerned formations of the BSF, CRPF and JKP.
The meeting was attended by the Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, senior officers of the BSF and CRPF, Deputy Inspectors General of Police of various ranges and Senior Superintendents of Police of border districts.
The security review assumes significance in view of the need for continued vigilance along the borders and close coordination among all security agencies to counter infiltration attempts and other security threats.
