Two Minor Sisters Die After Snakebite in Rajouri

Two minor sisters died after being bitten by a snake at Manma Barmari village in the Kalakote subdivision of Rajouri district on Sunday, officials said.

According to an official, the sisters were sleeping in a room along with other family members when a snake appeared on the bed and bit both children.

The two were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment. However, they later succumbed to their injuries, the official said.

The deceased have been identified as Amiba, 5, and Amiza, 3, both residents of the Rajouri district.

Officials said an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
