An unidentified man was found dead near the National Highway at Lamberi in the Nowshera area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.
The body was spotted by passersby, who immediately informed the police. A police team subsequently rushed to the spot and took the body into custody.
Police said the identity of the deceased has not yet been established. The body has been kept for identification while the necessary legal and medico-legal formalities are being completed.
Authorities have appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that may help establish the identity of the deceased. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
