Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar on Wednesday chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the prevailing security situation and review operational preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range.
The meeting was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range (CKR) Srinagar, SSPs of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal, SSP PCR Kashmir, SO to IGP Kashmir, all SDPOs and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, officers briefed the IGP on the security situation in their respective jurisdictions and apprised him of the security grid established to maintain peace, public order and a secure environment.
Kumar reviewed security arrangements and operational preparedness across the Central Kashmir Range, with particular emphasis on personnel deployment, readiness and response capabilities.
He directed officers to intensify counter-insurgency operations, strengthen area domination and enhance naka checking at vulnerable locations. He also called for increased checking and surveillance along inter-district borders.
The IGP stressed that security arrangements must remain dynamic and responsive to emerging vulnerabilities. He directed officers to regularly assess existing arrangements and reinforce deployments wherever required.
He further emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and directed officers to ensure that all necessary preventive measures remain in place to safeguard public peace and security.
The meeting concluded with directions to maintain round-the-clock vigilance, strengthen preventive security measures and ensure close coordination among field formations to maintain a peaceful and secure environment across the Central Kashmir Range.
