Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured in Sopore Road Accident

Motorcycle collides with Tata Matador Video Coach in Botingoo area; deceased identified as West Bengal resident working as goldsmith in Srinagar

One motorcyclist was killed and another injured after their motorcycle collided with a Tata Matador Video Coach in the Botingoo area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Officials identified the deceased as Mohinoor Mir Ali, a resident of West Bengal who was reportedly working as a goldsmith in Srinagar. The injured rider was identified as Minhaj Mir Ali.

According to officials, the motorcycle bearing registration number JK01BC-6080 collided with a Tata Matador Video Coach bearing registration number JK05N-9576, which was reportedly travelling towards Sopore from Bandipora.

Following the accident, a team from Police Station Warpora reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sopore.

Doctors at the hospital declared Mohinoor Mir Ali brought dead, while the injured rider was admitted for treatment.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further details were awaited.
