A Power Development Department (PDD) employee died after suffering an electric shock while on duty at the Receiving Station at Kanipora Balpora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Officials said the employee, identified as Altaf Ahmad of Berthipora, Shopian, came in contact with a live wire while performing his duties at the receiving station.
He sustained a severe electric shock and died on the spot, officials said.
The incident occurred while Ahmad was carrying out his assigned duties at the station. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the incident were not immediately available.
