Agencies | New Delhi:
The price of commercial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders was increased by Rs 62.50 from Thursday, October 1, with the cost of a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi rising to Rs 2,810.
The latest increase comes ahead of the festive season, when demand for commercial LPG typically rises among hotels, restaurants and other business establishments.
The hike follows an increase of Rs 9.50 in September, when the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi was revised to Rs 2,747.50.
The latest increase is expected to raise operating costs for restaurants, hotels, eateries and other commercial establishments that depend on LPG cylinders for cooking and other business operations.
While commercial LPG prices have been revised upward, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged, providing no immediate impact on household consumers.
The previous hike in the price of the 19-kg commercial cylinder was announced in September, with the revised rates coming into effect from September 1.
The latest revision will add to the fuel expenses of commercial establishments as they enter the peak festive-season period, when demand for food services and hospitality typically increases.
