Agencies | Mumbai:

Actor Tiger Shroff was reportedly targeted in a firing incident in Mumbai’s Juhu area after three unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire near Pushpa Park, according to reports.

While initial reports suggested that Shroff and two others had been injured, Mumbai Police later clarified that the actor was safe and had not sustained any gunshot injuries. Shroff’s driver and an autorickshaw driver were reportedly injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, a social media post purportedly issued by gangster Anil Pandit surfaced, allegedly claiming responsibility for the firing on behalf of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The authenticity of the post and the claim of responsibility would need to be established by investigators.

The incident triggered a political controversy, with Congress leader Sachin Sawant questioning the law-and-order situation in Mumbai and accusing the Maharashtra government of failing to curb criminal activity.

Reacting to the reports on X, Sawant said the alleged shooting was “utterly shocking” and referred to previous incidents, including the murder of Baba Siddique, the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s residence and threats allegedly issued to actors and film producers.

He alleged that law and order in Mumbai had deteriorated and criticised the state government’s handling of security. Sawant also drew a comparison with Bihar, arguing that the situation had become a matter of serious concern for Maharashtra.

The circumstances surrounding the reported firing, the identity of the suspects and the alleged gang connection remain matters for police investigation.
