The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Sunday assigned Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, Shailendra Kumar, the additional charge of Chief Secretary until the arrival and assumption of office by Sajjan Singh Yadav.
The order was issued by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha under Government Order No. 1725-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated November 1.
Kumar, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, will discharge the responsibilities of the Chief Secretary in addition to his existing assignments as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance Department, and Administrative Secretary, Agriculture Production Department.
The arrangement will remain in force until Yadav joins the Union Territory and takes over as Chief Secretary.
