Army Soldier Goes Missing During River Crossing Exercise in Rajouri

Search operation launched after soldier disappears during training in Sundarbani area

Agencies | Rajouri, Mar: An Indian Army soldier went missing during a training exercise in the Sundarbani area of Rajouri district on Monday, officials said.

The soldier, identified as Sepoy Akshit Sharma of the Indian Army, reportedly went missing around noon while participating in a River Crossing Training (RCT) exercise in the general area of Sundarbani.

Officials said the incident occurred at around 12 pm when the soldier was engaged in the training activity. Following the report of his disappearance, a large-scale search operation was immediately launched.

Teams of the Indian Army, along with civil agencies, have been deployed in the area and extensive efforts are underway to trace the missing soldier. Authorities said all available resources are being utilised as part of the ongoing search and rescue operation.
