A violent scuffle in the Khumani Chowk area of Bemina in Srinagar turned fatal after a man lost his life following a clash between two groups, officials said on Tuesday.
According to officials, the incident began as a minor altercation between two groups but quickly escalated when relatives of those involved joined the confrontation, leading to a serious outbreak of violence.
During the clash, a man sustained critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to JVC Hospital, Bemina, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Adil, son of Syed Manzoor, a resident of Khumani Chowk, Bemina.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the fatal assault.
