Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several parts of Kashmir over the coming days to facilitate maintenance and infrastructure works.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the shutdown of the 33 KV Shamsipora Tapline will affect power supply to Shamsipora, Sudsanoo, Turka, Tachloo and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 4 and May 6, 2026.
Similarly, power supply from the 132/33 KV, 100 MVA GIS Khanyar station will remain disrupted in areas including Nowshera, Raja Colony, Industrial Estate BAMK, Zadibal, Hawal, Botakadal, BSNL, Gilkadal, Kathi Darwaza, Rainawari Psychiatric Hospital, PHE, Central Jail, Saida Kadal and adjoining localities from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on May 4 and May 6.
In addition, shutdown of the 33 KV KP Bagh and 33 KV Exhibition lines will impact KP Bagh, Soiteng, PHE, Kursoo Rajbagh, Rajbagh Bund, Gogjibagh, Museum area, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Nagar, Rambagh, Old Barzullah and nearby areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 5, 11 and 14.
Further, power supply along the 33 KV Nehalpora-Markundal and 33 KV Nihalpora-HMT lines will remain suspended in Markundal, Naidkhai, Sumbal, Gund Boon, Shadipora, Trigam, Mirgund, Singhpora, Kalsari, HMT, SKUAST, SSM College and adjoining areas from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on May 5.
KPDCL has advised residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and plan their activities accordingly during the scheduled outages.
