In a major development, Salman Khan is all set to headline a high-concept superhero film with acclaimed filmmaker duo Raj and DK, with the project now targeting a shooting start in October 2026.
The ambitious film, positioned as a large-scale action entertainer with global appeal, is being produced by Atul Agnihotri. Discussions are also underway with Mythri Movie Makers to come on board as a studio partner, further elevating the project’s scale.
Sources indicate that the film is currently in an intensive pre-production phase, with the team focusing on finalising the visual design, action scale and technical detailing. “This is a big-budget superhero film aimed at a global audience. The makers are planning to begin filming by October 2026 once all pre-visualisation and groundwork are complete,” a source revealed.
Amid speculation surrounding the female lead, particularly linking Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the project, sources have clarified that she is not part of the film. The casting for the lead actress is still underway, with a final decision expected in the coming months.
This collaboration marks Salman Khan’s first full-fledged entry into the superhero genre, making it one of the most anticipated projects currently in development. The pairing of the superstar with Raj and DK has already generated significant buzz, setting high expectations for a cinematic spectacle.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is also occupied with another action project directed by Vamshi Paidipally, featuring Nayanthara in the lead. Backed by Sri Venkateswara Creations, the film is slated for a grand release during Eid 2027.
