Jammu, June 15: Three people were killed and two others sustained injuries after a car collided with a truck on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Nagrota area of Jammu during the early hours of Sunday, officials said.
The accident occurred at around 2.15 am in the Jagti-Karli stretch of Nagrota, leaving the car extensively damaged due to the impact of the collision.
According to officials, two occupants of the vehicle died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries after being shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu. The deceased have been identified as Sikander Saifi, Shakti and Mohit Verma, all residents of Haryana.
Two other occupants of the car, identified as Deepak Verma and Kuldeep Sharma, sustained injuries and were admitted to GMC Jammu for treatment. Their condition was not immediately known. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
