Examiner Bureau | Doda:

Heavy rainfall triggered flash floods and mudslides in Thathri town of Doda district on Tuesday, causing widespread damage to houses, shops, vehicles and public infrastructure.

Floodwaters carrying large amounts of mud and debris swept through several localities, damaging dozens of residential and commercial properties. Several vehicles were also damaged, with some reportedly washed away by the force of the floodwaters.

The heavy rains also triggered landslides and mudslides at multiple locations along the Doda–Kishtwar National Highway (NH-244), forcing the closure of the highway and disrupting vehicular movement. Authorities have launched restoration and clearance operations to reopen the road and restore normal connectivity.
