The Jammu and Kashmir Government has nominated Syed Ahmad Kataria, JKAS, Additional Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, as the department’s Nodal Officer for coordinating road safety-related issues.
According to Government Order No. 254-JK (Edu) of 2026, the appointment has been made in supersession of all previous orders issued on the subject.
The order states that Kataria will coordinate all road safety matters concerning the School Education Department and serve as the designated nodal officer for liaison with the concerned authorities to ensure effective implementation of road safety initiatives.
Issued by the School Education Department, the order takes immediate effect and will remain in force until it is modified or superseded by a subsequent government order.
