The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has declared 2012-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer Mohammad Aijaz “stand relieved” from the Government of Jammu and Kashmir with effect from October 5, 2026, directing him to join his transferred posting in Arunachal Pradesh.
Aijaz, who is currently serving as Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD&PR), had earlier been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh.
The latest directions follow the officer’s failure to be relieved from his existing assignment within the stipulated 15-day period, prompting the Ministry to intervene and issue revised directions for implementation of the transfer order.
Under the latest order, Aijaz is required to report to his new place of posting in Arunachal Pradesh immediately after being relieved from his present assignment.
The Ministry has also warned that continued non-compliance with the transfer directions could attract disciplinary action, including stoppage of salary and debarment from promotion and central deputation.
The directions are aimed at ensuring compliance with the transfer order and facilitating the officer’s movement to his new posting in Arunachal Pradesh.
