A 36-year-old woman has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy in Kerala’s Kasaragod district, police said on Tuesday.
The case has been registered at Rajapuram Police Station following disclosures made during an ongoing investigation by Hosdurg police in an unrelated POCSO case, in which the same minor was an accused.
According to officials, the matter came to light when the teenager, during questioning, revealed that he had earlier been subjected to sexual abuse by the woman. Acting on the statement, police registered a separate case under relevant provisions of the POCSO Act.
Authorities said a detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the alleged incidents and to gather corroborative evidence. Police have withheld further details regarding the accused and the timeline of the alleged abuse.
