A 70-year-old woman lost her life after a walnut tree fell on her amid strong gusty winds in the Khulchohar area of Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.
According to reports, the woman, a housewife, was near her residence in Mirpora Khulchohar when the walnut tree suddenly collapsed due to intense winds, causing critical injuries. She died on the spot.
The deceased was identified as a resident of Mirpora Khulchohar in Mattan.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.
