The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday declared the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026, with successful candidates qualifying for the personality test (interview).
According to a statement issued by the Commission, the main examination was conducted from August 21 to 30.
The Civil Services Examination is held annually in three stages — preliminary, main and interview — to select candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services.
The UPSC said candidates who have qualified for the personality test will be required to produce original certificates supporting their eligibility and claims for reservation or relaxation, including documents relating to age, educational qualifications, community, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Candidates have been advised to keep all relevant documents, including the Travel Allowance (TA) form, ready for verification at the time of the interview.
The Commission clarified that candidates seeking reservation or relaxation benefits under the SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and Ex-servicemen categories must produce original certificates issued on or before February 27, 2026, the closing date for applications for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026.
The dates for the personality tests will be announced in due course. The interviews will be conducted at the UPSC office at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi.
The e-summon letters for shortlisted candidates will be made available on the Commission’s official websites — upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. No paper or physical summons letters will be issued.
Candidates facing difficulties in downloading their e-summon letters have been advised to contact the Commission immediately through its telephone numbers 011-40303444 and 011-24041001, or email csm-upsc@nic.in.
The UPSC also stated that requests for changes in the date or time of the personality test intimated to candidates would ordinarily not be entertained.
Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the Commission’s website for updates regarding the interview schedule and other instructions.
The marks sheets of all candidates will be uploaded on the UPSC website within 15 days of the declaration of the final results, following completion of the personality tests, and will remain available for 30 days.
