Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed a range of issues concerning Jammu & Kashmir, including the early restoration of statehood, economic development, infrastructure growth, and the promotion of tourism in the Union Territory.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said he called on the Prime Minister to deliberate on matters of key importance to Jammu & Kashmir, with particular emphasis on the return of statehood, the condition of the economy, the pace of development works, and measures to further strengthen the tourism sector.
“Called on Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji to discuss issues of importance to J&K including early return of Statehood, the state of the economy, pace of development and promotion of tourism,” Omar Abdullah posted.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on completing 12 uninterrupted years in office.
“I congratulated him for the landmark of completing 12 uninterrupted years in office,” he added.
The Office of the Chief Minister, Jammu & Kashmir, also shared details of the meeting on X, stating that the two leaders discussed key issues concerning the Union Territory, including the restoration of statehood, economic progress, and ongoing development initiatives.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Omar Abdullah highlighted the need for continued support from the Government of India to accelerate economic growth, strengthen connectivity, generate employment opportunities, expand infrastructure, and enhance public welfare across Jammu & Kashmir.
The Chief Minister also extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Modi on completing 12 years in office, describing the milestone as significant in the country’s political landscape.
