Two people lost their lives and six others sustained injuries after a local vehicle met with an accident in the Aru Valley area on Wednesday, officials said.
According to officials, the vehicle reportedly went out of control and crashed, resulting in the death of two occupants on the spot and injuries to six others.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment, officials added.
Preliminary reports suggest that the deceased were residents of Dialgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Their identities, however, had not been officially confirmed at the time of filing this report.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated necessary legal proceedings.
