Three Arrested in Shopian with Explosives, Hizbul Mujahideen Posters

Three persons were arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district after security forces allegedly recovered explosive substances and posters linked to the banned militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen from their possession, officials said on Friday.

According to officials, the arrests were made during an operation in the Pudsoo area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday night. Police recovered two hand grenades, 2.5 kilograms of PEK (Plastic Explosive Kirkee), four mobile phones, and posters related to Hizbul Mujahideen from the accused.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Aizaz Ahmad Khanday, Arbaz Ahmad Mir, and Nasir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Begam village in Shopian district.

Officials said that all three had been missing from their homes since May 31. Further investigation into the case is underway.
