Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring reliable, affordable and quality electricity for every household across the Union Territory.
Chairing a comprehensive review meeting of the Power Development Department (PDD), the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the timely completion of key power infrastructure projects, strengthen accountability at every level and accelerate reforms aimed at building a modern, resilient and financially sustainable power sector.
According to a post shared by the Chief Minister’s Office on X, Omar Abdullah reiterated the government’s resolve to improve power supply and enhance the efficiency of the sector.
“Chief Minister today chaired a comprehensive review of the Power Development Department. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring reliable, affordable and quality power for every household across Jammu & Kashmir,” the Chief Minister’s Office said in the post.
The review meeting focused on strengthening the power sector through infrastructure development, improved service delivery and long-term reforms to meet the growing energy needs of the Union Territory.
