National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah on Saturday strongly condemned the killing of two migrant workers in Kulgam, describing the incident as “deeply unfortunate” and calling for a fair, impartial, and thorough investigation to identify those responsible.
Speaking to reporters, Abdullah stressed the need to establish the facts behind the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“It is deeply unfortunate. We do not know who killed them, and we do not know who the perpetrators are. There should be a thorough and honest investigation to identify those responsible,” he said.
Abdullah also questioned the timing of the incident, suggesting that such attacks appear to coincide with renewed demands for the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.
“I do not know why such incidents happen whenever we are demanding statehood,” he said.
The attack in Kulgam claimed the lives of two migrant workers and drew widespread condemnation from political leaders across Jammu and Kashmir, who called for swift action against those responsible.
