The Indian women’s cricket team will take on arch-rivals Pakistan in a marquee Group A clash of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 5, following the release of the tournament schedule by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Thursday.
The continental championship will be held in Dubai from August 28 to September 13, with all matches scheduled at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups.
India will begin their campaign against Thailand on August 30, followed by a match against Hong Kong on September 3, before meeting Pakistan in one of the tournament’s most anticipated encounters on September 5.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals, scheduled for September 10 and 11, while the final will be played on September 13.
India, the most successful side in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup, will be aiming to reclaim the title after finishing runners-up in the previous edition. The team has won the championship a record seven times. Bangladesh remain the only other team to have lifted the trophy, having won it once, while Pakistan will be chasing their maiden Women’s Asia Cup title.

All three league matches will begin at 6:30 pm (Dubai time) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Meanwhile, Harmanpreet Kaur is expected to lead the Indian team in the tournament. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had initially announced her as captain, the board later withdrew the press release, leaving the official confirmation pending.
