A woman allegedly killed her husband in a brutal knife attack at their residence in Haryana’s Kurukshetra, leaving him with severe abdominal injuries and prompting police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and reports of missing internal organs.

The deceased was identified as Rajesh, a native of Sitapur district in Uttar Pradesh, who had been living with his wife, Vimla Devi, in Kurukshetra for more than a year. According to reports, Rajesh worked as a water supplier on Pehowa Road.

The incident came to light around 5 pm after the couple was reportedly heard arguing. Their landlord rushed to the terrace after hearing shouting and allegedly found Rajesh lying in a pool of blood, while Vimla was reportedly attempting to place his intestines in a bag, according to media reports.

After allegedly being confronted by the landlord, Vimla jumped from the rooftop. She sustained injuries in the fall and was subsequently admitted to a hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

A post-mortem examination reportedly revealed the extent of the injuries sustained by Rajesh. Police said he had suffered multiple stab wounds and that his abdomen had been severely cut open.

The examination also reportedly indicated that a portion of the liver and the right kidney were missing. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the injuries and the reported absence of the organs as part of the wider probe into the killing.

Three knives of different sizes were recovered from the crime scene, police said.

According to the landlord, Vimla was allegedly involved in traditional healing and exorcism-related practices, while the couple frequently quarrelled. However, police have not established a definitive motive for the alleged attack, and the circumstances leading to the incident remain under investigation.

Rajesh and Vimla had reportedly been married for several years but did not have children.

Police have handed Rajesh’s body over to his family members. Authorities said further action against Vimla would follow after her medical condition improves.

The investigation is continuing, with police examining the couple’s relationship, the circumstances of the alleged attack, forensic evidence collected from the scene and the findings of the post-mortem examination.
