The Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed eight JKAS officers at the disposal of the Director, Information, J&K, Srinagar, for duties related to the first International Film Festival of Jammu Kashmir, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10.
The deployment was ordered through Government Order No. 1436-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on August 24.
As per the order, the officers have been directed to report to the Director, Information, J&K, Srinagar, on August 28 for a briefing regarding their respective duties and responsibilities during the festival.
The officers placed at the disposal of the Directorate of Information include:
- Ajaz Qesar Malik, Joint Director, Tourism, Jammu
- Alyaz Ahmad Naisroo, Deputy Commissioner, State Taxes (Appeals-II), Srinagar
- Nuzhat Khurshid, Joint Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation
- Malik Waseem Ahmad, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Pulwama
- Raeis Ahmad Bhat, Joint Director, Industries and Commerce (M&P), Kashmir
- Deebah Khalid Peer, Joint Director, Handicrafts, Kashmir
- Nasir Mahmood Khan, Joint Director (Administration), Directorate of Rural Development, Kashmir
- Abid Iqbal Malik, General Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC), Srinagar
The deployment is aimed at ensuring coordinated administrative support for the inaugural international film festival, which is expected to bring together filmmakers, artists, industry professionals and film enthusiasts.
The officers will work under the overall coordination of the Director, Information, and will be briefed on their specific assignments before the commencement of the festival.
The event, scheduled from September 7 to 10, is being positioned as an important cultural platform for showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s cinematic, artistic and cultural landscape while providing opportunities for interaction between local talent and the wider film industry.
The government’s decision to deploy officers from tourism, industries, handicrafts, municipal administration, rural development and other departments reflects an effort to ensure inter-departmental coordination for the successful conduct of the festival.
