A 19-year-old youth died after sustaining critical injuries in a road accident in the Duroo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rahil Ganie, son of Javaid Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Dabruna, Anantnag.
According to reports, Rahil was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an Alto car at Duroo. He was initially shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment. In view of the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to SKIMS Soura for specialised medical care.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident.
