High-level meeting at PCR Kashmir focuses on maintaining law and order; LG appeals to citizens to uphold harmony

Examiner Bureau | Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting of senior police and civil administration officials at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to review the prevailing law and order situation across the Valley.

The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special DG (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani, ADGP Armed Anand Jain, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, DIG CKR Rajiv Pandey, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, and other senior officials.

During the review, the Lieutenant Governor directed officers to remain on heightened alert and take all necessary measures to ensure public peace and tranquillity. He emphasised the importance of proactive coordination between security agencies and the civil administration to prevent any disruption of normal life.

Taking to X after the meeting, Sinha reiterated his appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to support efforts aimed at maintaining harmony.

“I also appeal to the citizens and community leaders to uphold harmony and contribute to an atmosphere of calm and goodwill in society. Preserving peace and sustaining the progress of society is a shared responsibility that rests equally upon each one of us,” he said.

The administration has assured that it remains vigilant and committed to maintaining law and order, while urging citizens to cooperate in ensuring stability and communal harmony across the region.
