Labourer Dies After Fall From Under-Construction House in Srinagar’s Habbak

38-year-old worker succumbed to injuries sustained in accident; police initiate investigation into incident

A 38-year-old labourer died after falling from an under-construction house in the Habbak area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Kathoo, son of Ghulam Nabi Kathoo, a resident of Khawaja Bagh, Tailbal.

According to reports, Tariq was working at a residential construction site in Habbak when he allegedly fell from a height, sustaining critical injuries.

Family members said he was immediately rushed for medical treatment following the accident. However, he succumbed to his injuries before doctors could save him.

Medical officials at the Primary Health Centre, Hazratbal, declared him brought dead.

Following legal formalities, police shifted the body to SMHS Hospital for medico-legal and radiological examinations.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
