Four Injured in Road Accident Near Bijbehara Air Strip

Tourist from Chandigarh among those seriously injured as two vehicles collide in south Kashmir's Anantnag district

Four people were injured, one of them critically, in a road accident near the Air Strip at Donipora Crossing in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

Officials said the accident involved a Swift Dzire (registration number HP37G-0172) and a Tata Mobile (registration number JK22B-7482).

Among the injured, Surinder Kumar, son of Roop Lal Sharma and a resident of Mohali, Chandigarh, sustained serious injuries and was shifted to a hospital for specialised treatment. Doctors said his condition remains critical.

Another injured person was identified as S. Chand Munda, a resident of Palanpur in Himachal Pradesh. Two others, including the driver of one of the vehicles, also sustained injuries. The driver reportedly suffered minor injuries.

All four injured persons were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident, while further investigation is underway. More details are awaited.
