Examiner Bureau | Ramban:

At least three personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were injured after three vehicles belonging to the force collided inside a tunnel along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district on Saturday, officials said.

The accident occurred at Kela Morh when an SSB convoy was travelling from Srinagar towards Jammu, according to officials.

As per initial reports, one of the vehicles in the convoy suddenly applied brakes while passing through the tunnel, following which the vehicles behind it collided with each other.

Three SSB personnel sustained injuries in the accident and were subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Further details about their condition were not immediately available.

The collision briefly disrupted traffic movement along the strategic highway, which was experiencing moderate rainfall at the time of the incident.

Security and traffic personnel responded to the accident and worked to clear the affected stretch. Despite the brief disruption and prevailing weather conditions, traffic continued to move along the highway, officials said.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is the principal all-weather road connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country and remains a critical route for passenger movement and the transportation of essential supplies.
