Dr. Tariq Parvaiz, Joint Director at the Institute of Animal Husbandry & Biological Products (IAH & BP), Zakura, has retired from government service after completing 33 years of dedicated service in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his long and distinguished career, Dr. Parvaiz served in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions, holding several key positions in the Animal Husbandry Department and contributing to livestock, dairy and poultry development across the Union Territory.
His professional responsibilities included livestock development, dairy and poultry promotion, feed and fodder management, implementation of government programmes and departmental administration.
A significant phase of his career was spent as Joint Director, a position he held for more than five years. In the role, he was entrusted with important responsibilities involving departmental administration, inter-departmental coordination and implementation of various development programmes and initiatives.
Before and during his senior assignments, Dr. Parvaiz served in several important capacities, including Poultry Development Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) and Deputy Director (Central), Feed & Fodder.
His career reflected a combination of extensive field experience and administrative expertise. He worked closely with stakeholders in the dairy and poultry sectors before taking on senior responsibilities involving planning, programme management and execution of government schemes.
Colleagues and officers who worked with Dr. Parvaiz recalled his professionalism, technical knowledge, administrative capabilities and commitment to public service. They also acknowledged his contribution to strengthening various programmes associated with livestock and allied sectors.
His retirement marks the culmination of a career dedicated to the development of Jammu and Kashmir’s Animal Husbandry sector and the welfare of people dependent on livestock and allied activities for their livelihoods.
