Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan has suspended four officials for alleged negligence and failure to achieve prescribed targets in the ongoing Digital Crop Survey in the district.
Those suspended include Assistant Executive Agriculture Officers (AEAs) Jatinder Kumar and Sunil Khajuria from the Agriculture Department, and Panchayat Secretaries Surinder Singh and Vishal Rasgotra of the Rural Development Department.
The action followed a review of the progress of the digital crop survey by the Deputy Commissioner, during which the performance of officials assigned specific targets was assessed. The four officials were found to have failed to achieve the targets allotted to them.
The Digital Crop Survey is being conducted across Jammu and Kashmir to digitally record land and crop-related information. Personnel from various departments have been deployed in Samba to facilitate the exercise and ensure timely completion of the assigned work.
Taking note of the lapses, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the suspension of the four officials with immediate effect.
The action underscores the administration’s emphasis on timely completion of the survey and adherence to prescribed targets by field-level officials.
