Examiner Bureau | Jammu:
Northern Railway will introduce temporary changes to passenger entry and exit arrangements at Jammu Tawi Railway Station from September 16 as redevelopment work progresses at the station.
Under the revised circulation plan, passengers will enter the station through the Platform No. 1 side, which serves as the old entry point. Passengers completing their journey will exit through the Second Side, also known as the Narwal Side.
The Jammu Division said the temporary arrangement has been introduced to ensure orderly passenger movement and strengthen safety and security while construction work is underway.
An exception will apply to trains arriving at Platform No. 1. In such cases, family members and relatives accompanying passengers will also be allowed to leave through the Platform No. 1 side.
Railway officials said the revised circulation plan is aimed at facilitating redevelopment work while ensuring that passenger movement continues smoothly.
Passengers and visitors have been advised to follow the directional signs installed at the station and cooperate with railway staff to avoid inconvenience.
Northern Railway said the redevelopment project is intended to equip Jammu Tawi Railway Station with modern passenger facilities and improved infrastructure.
