The Court of the 2nd Additional District Judge, Srinagar, has requested BCCI President Mithun Manhas to use his good offices to facilitate mediation in the civil suit filed by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) President Javid Ahmad Kitab.

Observing that the dispute pertains to the internal affairs of the JKCA, the court directed the parties to explore an amicable resolution through mediation, which is to be completed within 15 days.

The court did not grant any interim relief to the plaintiff, Javid Ahmad Kitab. It directed all parties to cooperate fully in the mediation process, maintain confidentiality, and refrain from taking any action that could prejudice the rights of either side during the mediation period.

Advocate Arif Sikandar Mir, appearing on behalf of the JKCA, represented the Association during the proceedings.

The matter has been listed for further hearing on July 29, 2026.

The court observed that if the mediation process does not result in a settlement, it will proceed to consider the preliminary objections raised in the case, including the maintainability of the civil suit and other legal issues advanced by the parties.
