Mirwaiz Kashmir, Dr Mohammad Umar Farooq, on Friday met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit to New Delhi.
The Kashmir chief cleric travelled to the national capital at the invitation of Iranian Ambassador to India Dr Mohammad Fathali to participate in an interaction with President Pezeshkian, who is in India to attend the BRICS Summit.
The interaction, hosted by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in India, brought together religious leaders, intellectuals and other distinguished personalities.
During his visit, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also visited an exhibition commemorating children killed in Minab.
The meeting took place as President Pezeshkian is on his first visit to India since assuming office, with his engagements in New Delhi forming part of the broader diplomatic activities surrounding the BRICS Summit.
