The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday expressed confidence in the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged irregularities in the counting of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and urged the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
The remarks came after the conclusion of the RSS’s three-day Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak in Belagavi, attended by Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and 226 senior functionaries.
Releasing the outcome of the meeting, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said the organisation expressed concern over the alleged irregularities in the counting of donations at the Ayodhya temple while placing faith in the ongoing investigation.
“Everyone expressed grief over the incident of irregularities in the counting of the donation box offerings at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir and expressed confidence that the ongoing SIT and police action, initiated at the request of the Teerth Kshetra Nyas, will reach a decisive conclusion,” Ambekar said.
He added that the Teerth Kshetra Nyas was expected to ensure that no such incident recurs, as it could affect the reverence and faith of devotees visiting the Ram Mandir.
Apart from the Ayodhya temple issue, the meeting reviewed the ongoing Census process and discussed demographic trends and the challenges arising from what the organisation described as “population imbalance.”
The RSS also reviewed the progress of its centenary year programmes and preparations for upcoming outreach initiatives. Discussions focused on connecting people associated with the organisation during the centenary celebrations with its social service activities and Panch Parivartan initiatives.
Organisational expansion also featured prominently, with deliberations on implementing shakha-level action plans and the nationwide Shakha Vistar Yojana scheduled for September.
According to the RSS, 83 Sangh Shiksha Vargas and 12 Karyakarta Vikas Vargas have been organised across the country since March, training 18,842 swayamsevaks in areas including organisational work, rural development, family awareness, disaster management and environmental conservation.
The meeting also identified drug abuse as a growing social concern and stressed the need to prioritise de-addiction initiatives. It further reviewed plans to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Maharaj and discussed the proposed travel schedule of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for 2026–27.
